Pitchfork Finds No Grievances To Air

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

Rumors were recently heard that Pitchfork.tv filmed a performance by New Jersey’s Titus Andronicus at the Knitting Factory Tap Bar. That scenario seems quite likely now that The Airing Of Grievances, the new record from the Aggro-Shakespearean quintet, has been officially dubbed “Best New Music” with an 8.5.

The group are over-the-top bombast live, as your SAK correspondent learned when he saw them open up for their pals, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, at Cakeshop last year. It was a blistering, amped-up performance, the kind that TA deliver at both club shows and all-ages basement (or boathouse) ragers.

They don’t have a lot of dates lined up, just DIY smokespace Silent Barn and the Pitchfork Fest currently, but some kind of Summer Tour seems in the works for the lads. We don’t know what impact the Fork’s rave review will have on the boys going forward, but now our dear SAK readers are prepared for the bloody melee.
