Your SAK correspondent got a nifty notice the other day concerning a beloved artist, Castanets. Their latest project, Tendrils has Castermind Ray Raposa giving away all the tracks on his latest, In The Vines, for video reinterpretation by his fellow artists. “Raposa’s belief that the recorded version of the song should never be the definitive take meant that to create a standard fare music video was counter-intuitive to spirit of the album,” so says the Asthmatic Kitty email. The goods are up at Pitchfork.tv until May 16th and includes contributions from Dirty Projector’s Dave Longstreth and Phosphorescent, along with some rad performances from people your SAK correspondent has never heard of.
