Thee Oh Sees Are Not To Be Distributed In Canada (Except Secretly)

Update: Your SAK corresponent appreciates astute SAK commenters coming forward to point out that Thee Oh Sees are actually on Tomlab, with SC just acting as that label’s distributor. Though the paragraph below actually says as much, he thought it best to clarify. Further: He is amused that people only comment when something is wrong.

Your West Coast SAK correspondent reports that Bloomington, Indiana based label Secretly Canadian has picked up Thee Oh Sees‘ new album, The Master’s Bedroom Is Worth Spending A Night In, and their 2007 album Sucks Blood, for US distribution. Interestingly, the San Francisco based band might be (secretly?) banned from Canada for playing clandestine shows in that colder, lamer version of America.

“The border patrolman told us on the phone that if we ever tried to cross back into Canada we’d get arrested. He might have been bluffing, but maybe he wasn’t,” Thee Oh Sees guitarist Petey Dammit wrote in an e-mail. “I love Canada! Please let me back in!”
